A Summary of What's New and Moving with the Apparatus of the Boise Fire Department


STATION 1 -

STATION 1 SAYS GOOD-BYE TO 132 YEARS OF SERVICE WITH THE MOVING OF TRUCK COMPANY
Since the beginning of the volunteer fire service, the fire station number 1 has always had a truck company.  In March, 2008, that tradition passed with the moving of the Pierce Tower truck to Station 7 as Truck 7.  The new location of the primary downtown area responding truck company is now Truck 5.

NEW DIVE RESCUE VAN IN SERVICE
Boise' Dive Team's new Dive Rescue van is now in service.  Combined with the Jet Ski and the boat, the new van has ample room to house all of the equipment for dive and water rescue operations.

ENGINE 5 IN SERVICE-
The new 2007 Spartan/Boise Mobile Equipment engine, which is the same series as the new Engines 6 and 8 is repaired and now in service. 

CRIMSON FIRE 103 FT. AERIAL IS IN QUARTERS AS TRUCK 5
Truck 5 began service the week of February 17, 2008.  Boise Mobile Equipment recently teamed up with Crimson Fire, a division of Spartan Motors, to build Boise Fire a 103 ft. aerial.  The truck has arrived in town and is currently in quarters as Truck 5.  Built on the Spartan Gladiator chassis, the tillered tractor-drawn aerial will make its quarters in the downtown Boise area.  The truck portion was built in as a result of Boise Mobile Equipment uniting with Crimson Fire, a division of Spartan Motors.

STATION 6 -

STATION 6 BUSIEST STATION FOR 2007
With Engine 6, Truck 6, and Battalion 2 quartered at the station, station 6 beat out station 5 in 2007 as the busiest station with 4340 runs. 

STATION 7 -

TRUCK 7 STARTS SERVICE AT STATION 7 -
The Pierce Dash Tower aerial which formerly served as Truck 1 is now in service as Truck 7.  The crew that had been running as Rescue 7 has been moved to the Truck Company, with both the crews of Truck 7 and Engine 7 sharing duties as needed on Rescue 7.
